A new layout, reactions and voice

A new editor layout, in three sizes. Pick Small, Default or Large in Settings or the file menu and the whole editor follows; Default is a little larger than before, and Small is the old size. The details panel shows what you use most, More details (⇧⌘\) opens everything else, and one "+ Add" row adds fills, strokes, shadows and more.

Reactions and voice in comments. React to a comment with 👍 ❤️ 😄 🎉 👀 ✅ or any emoji, and its author sees it in the bell. Or press the microphone in a comment or the agent box, talk, and your words appear where you were typing, on your phone too.

Delete and undo at any size. Delete hundreds of boards at once and get them all back with one ⌘Z, and undo an agent's message however much it changed.

And 9 fixes and improvements:

What's new, on one page. Every change to Repen, newest first and grouped by week, at repen.app/changelog. What's new in the workspace menu and the editor's file menu opens it.
Edit your own comments. Change a comment after you post it, right on the canvas; it shows "edited" from then on.
One editor layout. The docked Panels layout is gone and everything it showed is in More details. ⌘\ now shows and hides the interface.
Starred designs stay in the list. A design you star shows in the Starred shelf and in the list below it, so folding Starred never hides a design.
Every account confirms its email. If you haven't confirmed your address yet, Repen asks you once, the next time you open it. Your designs and agent connections wait for you and work again as soon as you confirm.
Agents copy into big designs. Agents copy layers within and into large designs, and bring captured pages into them, without running out of time.
Claude Code finds Repen in every folder. The connect command for Claude Code now adds Repen for your whole account on that computer, not just the folder you ran it in.
Comments and clicks stay on their boards. Moving a window to a screen with a different resolution no longer shifts the drawing away from comment pins and clicks, and selection outlines keep up while you zoom.
Design links open where you expect. Only a design link from outside Repen, like one in an email, goes to Repen for Mac; reloads, new tabs and links inside Repen stay in the browser, and "Opening in Repen for Mac…" shows only when it really does.

Clicking into layers, and Repen in Claude

Clicking into nested layers is reliable. Each quick click goes one level deeper, from a card to its content to the text inside, and a double-click on text starts editing, even inside a component. Small hand movements no longer nudge what you clicked.

Use Repen in Claude. Add Repen as a connector in Claude, sign in, and Claude can read and change your designs, with answers sized to what Claude can show.

Star your designs. Star a design from its card, its menu, the editor's file menu or with S, and it waits for you in the Starred shelf at the top of home. Your stars are yours alone.

And 21 fixes and improvements:

Rename a board from its title. Double-click a board's title on the canvas, type, and press Enter.
Viewers can search layers. People who can only view a design find layers with ⌘F or the search button in Layers.
Agents can make projects. Ask an agent to put designs together and it makes a project for them, or reuses one with the same name. Agents make few: at most three a day.
Big designs open faster. A large design draws a light overview first while the details follow, so the website's own design opens in 3.5 seconds instead of 5.6.
Repen shows up at once. Home and the editor show their frame straight away, with soft grey shapes where your designs will be, and a small logo while a design opens.
Paste big designs into other designs. Layers copied from a large design paste into another in parts, with their images and fonts, and one ⌘Z takes all of it back.
Paste while a design opens. Press ⌘V while a design is still loading and the paste goes in, once, as soon as the design can be edited.
New accounts confirm their email. After you sign up with a password, enter the code from the email or press its button to get in. Signing up with Google counts as confirmed.
Library updates that can't arrive say why. When a design can't take a library update, Repen stops trying, shows why on the link, and delivers it once it can.
Presenting leaves room for the controls. Tall slides no longer sit under the play controls.
A finished agent's cursor goes away. A few seconds after an agent finishes, its cursor fades out. It comes back the moment the agent edits again.
Repen links look right when you share them. Links to Repen's pages show Repen's current picture and tagline in chats and posts.
Big design links open in Repen for Mac. The app takes the link as soon as it's ready, so a large design no longer opens in the browser instead.
Large designs get their board previews back. Previews that had stopped being made on repen.app are made again.
New sections on the website. An agent building a page in one go, a live canvas shared by two people and two agents, "Design to code, and back", and a design system with its versions. On phones the hero plays from start to end.
Repen for Mac updates itself. The small pill at the right of the tab strip fills as an update arrives, then becomes Update; one click restarts into it, and Repen asks first only while an agent is working or something isn't saved yet.
See what changed after an update. "Updated to …" shows for a few seconds after the restart; rest the pointer on it to see what's new.
Repen for Mac looks for updates more often. Every 10 minutes, and when you come back to it after 5 minutes away.
Your message shows the moment you send it. In the Agents panel the conversation opens straight away.
Pick the model for each conversation. Choose the model and how hard it thinks; Repen remembers your last choice.
Conversations get a title. A short one after the first answer; double-click it to rename it.

Codex, and half a million layers

Codex works inside Repen. Pick Codex next to Claude Code in the Agents panel, follow its steps, answer its prompts, choose Read Only, Default or Plan, and review or undo each request.

Designs with up to 500,000 layers. The largest designs load board by board, and one past 50,000 layers opens on its first board instead of zoomed out over everything. At the start of the week the limit was 60,000.

And 8 fixes and improvements:

Choose when a design takes a library update. Each design that uses a library updates when you say so (the default), updates by itself, or stays where it is. Every update can be undone.
A page for each library. See its versions and what changed, every design that uses it, and update or roll back several at once. Before you publish, Repen tells you which designs would lose something.
Every agent at a glance. A strip at the top of the Agents panel shows each agent that's working or needs you, and you can answer it right there. The Dock counts the ones waiting for you.
Review and undo work on other designs. When an agent changes another design, that change gets its own Review and Undo in the conversation. Settings lets you choose which agent notifications you get.
Claude Code says why it stopped. A usage limit and when it resets, extra usage that lets it carry on, Claude being unavailable, or a conversation too long to continue, which you can now compact with one click. Plans show as formatted text.
Smooth zooming over huge boards. Zooming and panning across very large boards full of shadows and blurs no longer stutters.
Big designs draw what's in view first. The boards you're looking at appear first, and the rest follow in the background.
New work in Made in Repen. Sixteen new pieces on Apps & websites and the home page, and a hero that goes from one prompt to a whole product.

Claude Code inside Repen for Mac

Claude Code works inside Repen for Mac. Ask from the Agents panel, follow its steps on the board, answer its questions, and review or undo each request. Tabs show a dot where an agent is working or needs you, and your Mac tells you when one is done.

Libraries your agents understand. Agents read the library a design follows (colours with their rules, type, components and guidelines) and build with it. You can make a library from a design, move layers into one, and see what a switch would change before you make it.

And 8 fixes and improvements:

See who asked the agent. Work an agent does from Repen for Mac shows as "Claude Code for Art" in Activity and History, one line per request, and can be undone from the browser too.
Agents can archive designs, after asking you. An agent can put a design in the Archive or bring one back. It shows you what would be archived and waits for your yes.
Smooth zooming on boards with shadows. Boards with lots of drop shadows zoom and pan without waiting.
Repen for Mac follows your theme. In dark mode the tab strip, title bar, sheets and banners are dark too, and they switch as soon as you change the theme.
Design links open in Repen for Mac. A link to a design opens it as a tab, or brings it forward if it's already open, and "Open in Browser" takes it back. On a Mac, the browser offers a quiet "Open in Repen for Mac".
Repen for Mac checks for updates more often. Every hour, after your Mac wakes and when you come back to it.
A clearer website. A navigation bar that stays with you, a new Apps & websites page, and a picture of its own for each page when shared.
New privacy policy and terms. Rewritten for Forthbound OÜ, the company behind Repen.

Repen comes to the Mac

Repen for Mac, in beta. Your designs in tabs you can drag between windows, sign-in through your browser, Claude Code and Codex on your Mac connected without any setup, designs linked to their code, and updates that arrive by themselves. Download it from repen.app/mac.

Repen on your phone, and huddles

Repen on your phone. Open a design on your phone and it fills the screen: pan and pinch, go from board to board, read and write comments, follow someone, and join a huddle. Fingers work on tablets too.

Huddles. Talk with whoever is in the design without leaving it. Start one from the top bar, see who's speaking, and mute when you need to.

Copy and move designs anywhere. Copy to… and Duplicate into any workspace, copy and paste designs on the home page, and Move a design to another workspace with its comments and history, while its old links keep working. Images and fonts come along.

And 10 fixes and improvements:

Paste between designs, at your pointer. Layers copied in one design paste reliably into another, with their images and fonts, and land where your pointer is. Agents can copy layers between designs too.
"Viewers can copy". Choose whether people who can only view a design may copy from it.
Delete forever, from the Archive. Archived designs can be deleted for good, with everything in them. Owners can empty the whole Archive at once.
The Agents card shows agents at work. Design requests are hidden for now, because Repen in the browser doesn't run agents itself. The card shows the agents you connect while they work.
A page for each agent. Settings has a page for every agent connection, and you pick its colour and eyes when you connect it.
A finished agent stops looking busy. The shimmer runs only while an agent works. When it's done, its outline settles to a thin line, and × clears it.
Photos, and follow with one click. Your profile photo shows with the faces at the top of a design; click someone's face to follow them. Agents get eye styles and livelier faces, and names stay readable when you zoom out.
Share links are for viewing. A link never lets anyone edit; invite people to edit. Guests invited to one design use stock photos rather than the workspace's AI images.
See your usage. Settings → Usage shows the AI images and stock photos each workspace and person has used.
A new website and a Motion page. New positioning, a Motion page with motion graphics, sharper pictures and films in 1080p.

Comments, links and Google sign-in

Comments and links, reworked. Drag a comment's pin, resolved threads leave the canvas, and Copy link (⌘L) on any layer or comment opens right on it. Press / for cursor chat, and people who step away fade from the faces until they're back.

Sign in with Google. Use your Google account next to your email and password.

And 10 fixes and improvements:

Selection and text editing that feel familiar. Clicking, double-clicking into groups and components, and editing text follow the tools you already know. \ selects the parent, Tab moves between neighbours, and Layers can reveal what you selected.
Variables edited in place. Change a colour, number or text right in the Variables table, and rename variables and modes with a double-click.
Email that helps. Confirm your address, reset a forgotten password and get invitations by email, with an unsubscribe link on notifications.
Signing out is instant. And a session that has ended never leaves a page stuck.
Invite links open what you can already open. Following an invite to a design you can already reach just opens it.
Large files are steady. Big designs with many images stop crashing, flickering and fetching the same pictures again, and open sooner.
One connection for everything you can reach. Connect an agent once with "Everything you can access", and name or rename each connection. New Repen tools reach a connected agent without reconnecting.
Agents send files without retyping them. Images, fonts and whole designs go from your disk into Repen through an upload link, so they don't use up your agent's limits.
The design's name, one click to rename. The top-left chip shows the project and design; click the name to rename it, and "Back to …" returns you where you came from.
One colour per person. Your colour is the same on your cursor, avatar, mentions and everywhere else.

Repen, redesigned

Selecting like you'd expect. A click picks the outer layer, a double-click goes one level deeper, Esc goes back up, and a size badge shows under what you selected. Images you add land in the middle of the view.

See agents at work. A board an agent is working on shows a soft moving sheen with the agent's name and what it's doing.

And 5 fixes and improvements:

Undo and redo are instant. Your own undo shows at once.
Pinch zooms the canvas, not the page. Edit text where it is, and board titles follow as you move a board.
Designs open sooner, and zoom is calmer. The drawing engine starts loading straight away, fonts come from the cache, and pinch and ⌘-scroll zoom are gentler.
New text starts with what you typed. Keys pressed while a text box opens all land in it, in order.
HTML imports keep their images. Pages with images inside them import without hitting the size limit.

Repen's first releases
